Working on stuff
Not a lot of time tonight to write. This morning I accompanied Liz to the doctor’s office for an ultrasound. The baby is getting so big! You could see her face a little, but her position (head down and facing the spine, a/k/a ready to get the heck out of this uterus position) made it hard to see full details. Still, I definitely think her nose is more like Liz’s than my own. So exciting to think she’ll be joining our family in the ‘outside world’ in just 6 more weeks!
Anyways, as a result of coming into work late, I ended up working until 6 p.m. and it took an hour to get home. Between dinner and just catching up on email, it’s already 8:10, and bed time is another 50 minutes from now. I’m already yawning for whatever reason. So wrapping it up for today and I’ll see if I have anything to write about tomorrow.
Year of Writing
Just a quick update. During the weekend I did a couple of journal entries since my time was eaten up by various chores that need to get done before the baby comes. On Monday, I started working on a longer piece regarding the Goldieblox/Beastie Boys dispute that will probably take a week or so to fully write. What started as a “brief” topic has actually expanded itself, although I doubt once I get to the editing phase all that much will remain. When I get it fully completed, I will post the original piece to my blog.
In the meantime, how about that weather out there? I swear, I moved from Minnesota to Ohio to get away from the cold and it followed me there, then I moved from Ohio to Maryland because it couldn’t possibly get this cold in Maryland no? We’ve got an ocean and whatnot, acts as a natural heat sink, no way can it get this cold, right?!?!
I’m moving to the equator next. Anything more than 10 degrees north or south can STFU. :(
As I’ve posted elsewhere, I’m taking a year where I’m going to write every day. Not a lot of time to do much tonight unfortunately because it took a ton of time to get home with WINTER STORM HERCULES (seriously guys, Hercules?)
Anyways, I have a brief writing concept I’m thinking about that has to do with the Goldieblox v. Beastie Boys case, specifically focusing on the fact that the Beastie Boys refuse to license their music for commercials, and how that refusal factors in to the last factor of the fair use four-part test. It’s at least a couple of days worth of my daily writing requirements, so hopefully I’ll end up with a snow day tomorrow and have the time to really get into it.
In the meantime, enjoy Hercules, and may you arrive home safely!
